Musical theater studio at the drama theater. Children's theater studio at the Moscow Russian Drama Theater. Development Center "Ladder"

Every spring, theater universities in Moscow graduate creative life the younger generation of actors, their fates are different. In graduation performances and excerpts, students play central roles, and when they come to the theater, they sometimes wait for years for a worthy debut. Fortunately, the young actors of the Vakhtangov Theater avoided this fate. Yesterday's graduates are actively represented in the current repertoire.

But the restless artistic director Rimas Tuminas does not stop searching for talent, watching graduation courses from all Moscow universities and finding promising actors with whom he would like to collaborate. The problem is that the theater troupe does not allow large additions every year, and there is no strength to part with talents. Therefore, R. Tuminas had the idea to organize a studio at the Vakhtangov Theater from graduates.

A room was found - a basement with a stage and a small number of seats for spectators, there is a dormitory, and an opportunity was found to finance studio members.

The studio intends to become a creative link between the university, the small theater stage, and then the big one. Studios will have the opportunity to work with both young talented directors, participants in directing laboratories at the Russian Theater Union of Theater Arts, and high professionals. They have the right to choose the repertoire. Perhaps their first performance will consist of the best excerpts from their senior year.

The studio's charter will not differ from the principles that K. S. Stanislavsky proclaimed a hundred years ago:

“The basis of all relationships is aesthetics, beauty, order, discipline, aristocracy, tender attitude towards human soul, in a word, everything that makes a person an artist.”

The studio is not a one-time event designed for 1 - 2 years. This is the process of educating young actors, their employment in the current repertoire, this is an opportunity on the studio stage to take risks, try, make mistakes and, as a result, win, proving their creative worth on the way to big stage. This is professional security and demand for young actors.

The progenitor of our theater is E.B. Vakhtangov, having headed the 3rd studio of the Moscow Art Theater, precisely defined the goals and objectives of this phenomenon:

“Studioity is the Essence for the sake of which and with the help of which the Studio exists.

This Essence illuminates everything: the attitude towards art, and towards each other, and behavior within the walls of the Studio, and representation on the side. This essence resonates in artistic, ethical, moral, spiritual, comradely, and public life every student.

Each of you must inevitably go through all the stages in order to become a Studio member, and, thereby, the owner of the Studio.”

These words are a guide to action, an ethical postulate that we will follow.

On the Theater website we will publish information about the works of studio members, repertoire and performances.

The studio begins work in May, and the official opening will take place in the fall.

Many parents solve the problem of choice simply - choose either the highest price or the loudest name. Don’t repeat their mistake; choose an institution based on your child’s needs.
Just as sports sections are divided into professional and health groups, educational institutions with a theatrical bias can be divided into:
  • drama clubs “at home” - simple amateur or semi-professional theater groups based on interests in schools, cultural centers, etc.; inexpensive, sometimes free;
  • professional theater studios - most often exist at reputable theaters and are aimed at training personnel for these same theaters; paid, admission based on strict competition.
The options listed above deserve careful consideration, but remember that they are not equivalent, and the choice should be made depending on the desired result. For example, if you don’t see your child on stage, but only want to strengthen his self-esteem and instill a love of creativity, the Moscow Art Theater studio is clearly not for you, but you should take a closer look at the circles near your house.
