Learn to draw a girl. Proportions of the female body. Step-by-step drawing training, master classes

Now we will learn the structure of a person’s face and how to draw a beautiful portrait (face) of a girl with a pencil step by step for beginners. Our girl will be young Cameron Diaz. Cameron Diaz became famous as an actress after starring in the film “The Mask” with Jim Carrey, before that she was a model, and as a child she dreamed of becoming a zoologist. Of the latest films, I liked “Very Bad Study”, I watched it four times, her performance there was simply superb. Now let's start drawing this actress.

Step 1. Draw a circle, draw a straight line in the middle of the circle, then Cameron looks straight, but a little down, so the line of the upper eyebrows is shifted a little down. For convenience, I noted where the middle of the circle is, so that you understand how much lower we draw the curve. Further below, draw a line for the eyes. Our nose will end right at the end point of the circle, measure the distance from it to the point of intersection of the eyebrow line. This distance is equal to the distance from the nose to the chin and from the point of the eyebrow line to the beginning of the hair.

All pictures enlarge when you click on them.

Step 2. Now we need to mark where the eyes are located. To do this, divide the eye line into five equal parts, i.e. It turns out that the length of the eye is equal to the distance between them. From the beginning of each eye, lower the dotted line down. Let me remind you that the end of our nose is at the end point of the circle. We omitted the dotted line so that the wings of the nose did not extend beyond these boundaries, because this is the structure of the face. Divide the distance from the nose to the chin into three equal parts.

Step 3. Draw the outline of Cameron's head, eyes and nose.

Step 4. We draw the pupils with highlights and the girl’s mouth. Bottom line upper lip is on the first line.

Step 5. Draw eyelashes and eyebrows.

Step 6. We draw lines emphasizing the facial features of the actress (cheekbones, nose) and sketch out the curves of the hair arrangement, and also draw the ears.

Step 7. To draw the hair, we need to highlight the dark areas. Let's copy it.

Step 8. To make the hairstyle more voluminous, draw additional lines on the head, then draw the neck and shoulders.

Good day, aspiring artists!
Now we will learn how to draw a person’s face with a pencil step by step. People believe that depicting a human face is a task only for experienced artists. But if you follow simple rules, any beginner can handle this task with the ease of a professional. Knowledge of proportions and correct location all elements are the keys to unraveling the secret of “how to draw a person’s face.”

Centerlines and proportions

Each element can be thought of as a line. They are called axial. Correct, proportional person impossible to depict without using them. At first, until a certain skill appears, they need to be used constantly.
To begin with, using light, barely visible strokes, we apply a grid of axial strokes. This will simplify and speed up work on the contour.
Next, working with the axes, you can begin to depict human emotions. When a person is happy or angry, his facial features change, followed by a change in the direction of the axial grid.

Horizontal lines

Step 1 Oval

First, we create an approximate oval; we don’t need precision yet. It will be adjusted further. It is needed to understand the scope of work and create correct proportions all elements.

Step 2 Axial symmetry and eye placement

The oval must be divided into four parts by horizontal and vertical segments. The horizontal line is the axial line of the eye. Vertical is needed to correct the symmetry of the image. Don't try to do this without a ruler. Accuracy is important here; the correct placement of parts of the face depends on them.

Step 3 Eyebrows, nose, lips and hair

Next we draw our vectors for the eyebrows, nose, and hair. To do this, you need to divide the oval into three and a half parts, these will be the hair growth lines, eyebrows, and the base of the nose.

To depict the lip line, divide the lower third, from the nose to the chin, horizontally in half. There will be a lower lip.

It is important to remember that in the initial marking you only need the main line of the lips. Their shape depends on the gender, race and age of the person. It will change in future work.

Step 4 Ears

The auricle, like a fingerprint, is unique to each person. Oddly enough, the correct placement of the ears is often the biggest problem when depicting a portrait.

In order to avoid such misunderstandings, you need to remember that the upper part of the ear is located on the axis of the eyes, and the lower part on the axis of the nose. Regardless of size or shape, ears are correctly depicted within this fragment.

Vertical lines

Step 5 Eyes

We return to the horizontal line of the eyes. It must be divided into eight parts. Each eye will occupy two of the eight parts. This way they will look proportional. The distance between them is equal to the length of one eye. There should be one eighth left to the outline of the head on each side. The corners are always on the axial.

Do not forget that lips, eyes, nose, ears are different for each person. Here's how to draw the average person's face. After proportionally placing the parts, they can be brought into line with the original.

Step 6 Nose and mouth

If the model is looking straight, at the same vertical level are:

the inner corners of the eyes are the wings of the nose;

corners of lips - pupil.

After carrying out all the axial lines, we should get the following mesh:

We have drawn a basic backbone that can later be shaped to give it its own personality.

Step by step model of drawing a human face.

The article tells you how to draw a face quickly, symmetrically, and accurately calculate proportions. As soon as novice artists feel the strength, they can begin to perform more complex artwork. With experience, the need to construct a complex contour mesh will go away.

First you need to determine whether we will portray a man or a woman. They have significant differences. For example, we will draw a man's face.

You can learn how to draw a girl’s face from the video master class offered below.

Step 1 Shape

We draw an oval and the first two axial ones - horizontal (eyes), vertical (to determine symmetry).

Step 2 Details

With light movements we apply, along the pre-defined axes, the eyes, nose, eyebrows, lips. At this stage, it is important to outline the details; we will adjust them further.

The pencil should not be pressed too hard into the paper. Otherwise, dents will remain on it, and then it will be difficult to correct the flaws.

Step 3 Detailing the shapes

Now we begin to transform the sketch into a drawing. We add and complement all the elements:

we finish drawing the eyelids, pupil, eyelashes;

carefully draw the eyebrows, bringing out each hair. Very painstaking work that requires attention and perseverance;

We come up with a hairstyle for the model. Depicting hair correctly is the most difficult task;

We pay a lot of attention to the nose. Carefully draw out the nostrils;

For beginners, it’s easier to keep your lips closed or in a half-smile;

We tighten the jawline.

Step 4 Add Shadows

The final touch is shading! Apply shadows in small, light strokes to the eyes, nose, mouth, cheekbones and neck.
The shading can be shaded with a piece of paper or your finger. This will make the picture closer to the original.

Lesson completed. Our model is designed for the entry level. But with diligence, the level of skill will increase with each new painting.

The next step is to learn the nuances of drawing facial expressions and depicting emotions. The main thing is to train!

Learning the basics of drawing will help you become a good painter in the future. People who are just learning the basics of drawing often have difficulties with how to draw with a simple pencil. In this article we will talk about the techniques by which this complex process will become interesting and not so scary. The lesson will be based on simple ones that we will use to “dress” the face. We will figure it out step by step. A girl's face from the front will not be a very difficult task. So let's get started.

Of course, without anatomical knowledge it is difficult to tell how to draw a person’s face, so we will use the so-called basis, which will help us determine the exact location of the eyes, nose, ears and mouth. In the future, if you decide to continue drawing, you will definitely need to master the anatomical drawing of the human body.

Oval face

So, today we are learning to draw a person’s face, and we will start our drawing with an oval of the head. If we miss all the anatomical details and look at a person’s head schematically, we will see an oval resembling chicken egg. We divide it into symmetrical halves with a vertical line, and then with a horizontal line (the line of the pupils). We will start from these lines.

Auxiliary lines

Ears

The place where the ears should be is marked on the diagram yellow. Extend the line of the nose until it intersects with the width of the head; at these points we will have earlobes. We will adjust the height a little later.

Turn on your imagination

At this stage we outline the contours of the eyes, eyebrows, tip of the nose, lips and ears. Here you will see where your ears will end, approximately this will be the line of the eyebrows. Draw a little oval of the head in the area of the ears.

Final stage

We slowly erase unnecessary and interfering lines and add details. We draw stronger, add shadows, make the drawing three-dimensional. The hairstyle is already to your taste.

When you draw a drawing and remember how to draw a person’s face, check the proportions in parallel. The placement of the eyes and mouth fits into equilateral triangle. The peaks will be located at the corners of the eyes and on the lower edge of the lips. The height of the mouth will be equal to half the width of a woman's eye, as will the distance from the tip of the nose to the lips. And the chin is in woman's face will be equal to the width of the eye.

Now you know how to draw a person's face without knowledge of anatomy. This method is one of many that help you master the basics of drawing. Try hard and you will succeed.

Three-quarter turn

Drawing a portrait of a young woman

For everything to work out as it should, you need to start with the basics. Let's try to figure out how to draw a portrait with a pencil - for this we will depict a portrait of a young woman with large expressive eyes.

First you need to make a blank - it will be a circle divided into 4 equal parts and a small elongated part at the bottom. Approximately in the middle of the lower half of the circle we will outline two ovals - eyes. It is important that the distance between the eyes is equal to the length of the eye itself, and the distance from the edge of the face to the outer corner of the eyes is half this length. Let's immediately sketch out the line of the mouth - it will be located below the circle, at a distance equal to the width of the eye.

Let's add the upper eyelids and eyebrows. The eyebrow should have a curve. It is best to follow this rule: the beginning of the eyebrow should be at the level of the inner corner of the eye, the end - slightly diagonally from the outer corner.

Now let's take care of the nose - it will be located at the bottom of the circle.

And the mouth is on the same strip just below the circle that we marked in advance.

When drawing lips, it is important to remember that the lower lip should be slightly fuller than the upper lip. Also, you should not make the lip line perfectly straight - it has a peculiar bend. Let's also outline the basic shape of the ears. The bottom of the ear will be approximately in line with the nose, and the top will be in line with the upper eyelid.

Let's work on the eyes in more detail. It is important to remember here that there should be a light spot on the iris - a highlight, and the upper lash line is slightly more expressive than the lower one.

Let's draw other contours. At this stage, all auxiliary lines are also erased. You also need to draw the ears - cartilage, lobe, etc.

All that remains is to draw the hair. Under no circumstances should they be made into a monolithic block - it looks very unnatural. Individual hairs should be visible, laid with slight carelessness. You can also add a little volume: to do this, very lightly shade the shadow part of the face.

Great, our portrait is completely ready. To find out more details, you can watch this video:

How to draw a male look - basic nuances

If in the previous section we learned how to draw woman portrait step by step, now let’s practice creating a male portrait.

Let's start with the eyes. They should be sufficiently elongated and located at a distance of one more eye from each other:

Then we will add eyebrows. You should not make them one solid line - eyebrows consist of individual hairs, often growing at random.

Let's work in more detail with the eyes: we will make the eyelash line more expressive and slightly darken the iris. We leave a small white spot on the iris - a highlight. You also need to depict the nose: to choose the correct height, set aside a distance from the eyes that is one and a half times greater than the length of the eye.

Now the mouth. It is located just below the nose. As for the width, here you need to focus on the pupils. Mentally lower the vertical lines from the pupils down - this distance will be the line of the mouth.

A little shade is what you need now. Shade the shadow side of the nose and upper lip.

Now we need to outline the oval of the face and ears. Don't forget that this male portrait- Cheekbones should be clearly defined.

Now the hair. There is no need to make them “one size fits all” - the direction of the hair on the head can be very different. It is best to draw individual hairs rather than try to make the hairstyle a monolithic piece.

And, of course, the head cannot just hang in the air - you need to finish drawing the neck and shoulders.

And then - enhance the shadows. The direction of each new layer of hatching may not coincide with the previous one - do not be afraid of this.

Stubble will add more masculinity, and highlights in the eyes will make the look more lively.

Drawing a girl - a guide for beginners

In this section we will learn to draw a portrait of a young girl. It is absolutely not necessary to be a professional artist for this: now we will figure out how to draw a portrait for beginners.

First of all, let's draw an oval - the general shape of the face.

Then we mark it: we need to draw a vertical axis of symmetry, as well as three horizontal lines - for the eyes, nose and lips. We will also sketch out the basic shape of the ears - their height will be approximately between the line of the eyes and nose.

Let's draw the nose in a little more detail - we need to note its wings, the bridge of the nose, and the front part.

Now the eyes and eyebrows. To do this, you will need two more auxiliary lines, located symmetrically on both sides of the main eye line. It is important to remember that the distance between the eyes should be approximately equal to the length of one eye.

Let's add details. We need to draw a hairline for our girl, outline her cheekbones, and outline the folds near her eyes.

General sketches have been made, so you need to carefully erase all the auxiliary lines and draw the hair. In order for the hairstyle to look natural, do not make all the strands the same, licked - they should lie a little carelessly, out of order. You can put earrings in a girl's ears.

Now we need to add volume - shade the shadow parts, enhance the contours.

We must not forget about the falling shadows: from the hair, from the nose, the shadow on the neck. This is all neatly shaded too. Light parts of the hair can be further lightened using an eraser.

Let's enhance the shadow a little more and add light tones on the strands of hair, lower lip, and eyes.

That's it, the portrait of the girl is drawn. If you are interested in this lesson, you can also watch this video:

Lesson on drawing portraits for little artists

Children often like to draw different characters: book or cartoon characters, or simply abstract people. This lesson will describe in detail how to draw a portrait of a young girl, so even the most young artist can easily cope with this task.

First you need to outline the oval of the face and divide it into 4 parts.

Then - in general outline set the shape of the eyes, lips, location of the tip of the nose.

We need to add details: draw the iris in the eyes, give a more natural shape to the lips, draw the nose.

And now we need to sharpen the oval of the face, finish drawing the upper and lower eyelashes, pupils and eyebrows.

And, of course, what girl would do without beautiful long hair.

To make the drawing look more alive, you need to apply a little shadow. This must be done very easily and carefully.

That's all - the portrait of the girl is ready. For a more complete understanding of the lesson, it will be useful to watch this video:

Portrait of a person - learning to draw together

Drawing portraits is a rather difficult task, requiring attention, accuracy and precise adherence to proportions. And with the help of this lesson we will learn how to draw a portrait of a person.

Let's start with the basics - draw an oval face and divide it into three parts. Attention - the top point of these three fragments should be slightly below the top point of the oval itself - there will be a hairline.

At the separation points, you need to draw three horizontal lines, and then two more. One will be just below the center mark, and one will be just below the bottom mark. Also, symmetrically to the axis from the second base mark (eyebrow line) to the bottom (nose line), you need to draw two vertical lines - blanks for the front part of the nose.

Using this blank we draw a nose - with a bridge of the nose, a small hump and wings. We also mark the eyes - they will be on a line located just below the eyebrow line. In terms of width, it should be conditionally divided into 5 parts - the eyes will be in parts 2 and 4.

You also need to draw the lips - they will be on a line located under the line of the nose. The width of the mouth will be determined by the middle of the eyes - from the middle of the left to the middle of the right. It is important to note that the lower lip should be slightly wider than the upper lip.

A little more detail: draw the iris and pupil in the eyes, add volume to the eyebrows.

Now we draw the hair along the already marked lines and begin to work with the ears.

We work on the cheekbones - they are especially pronounced in a man. We also draw the neck - it will be quite massive.

That's it, at this stage you can erase all additional lines. By the way, you can also add a shirt collar to the drawing.

Portrait of a girl - three-quarter turn

Before that, we painted faces mainly from the frontal view - that is, the person is looking directly at us. Portraits in profile are also quite common - when the person is positioned sideways to the artist. But much more complex and interesting is the three-quarter turn - something between a full face and a profile. Let's try to depict this option.

In the beginning general forms- an elongated, upwardly expanded oval and axes of symmetry. Unlike the frontal position, the axles will not divide the oval into almost equal parts - they will follow the line of the oval, leaving slightly less space on the turning side. For now we are interested in the lines of the eyebrows and eyes.

Then you can outline the hairline, mouth and start drawing the nose. As you can see, its left wing is almost invisible, and the left part of the bridge of the nose is much smaller than the right.

Now the girl’s eyes are quite large, with a wide upper eyelid.

Now we draw the eyebrows. They are quite thin and widely spaced.

Let's do the mouth and chin. The mouth will be small, slightly open. Also at this stage the lower eyelids will be depicted - they are also wide, which is why it seems that the eyes are a little bulging.

Add strands of flowing long hair.

That's it, now our sketch is ready. We have a real forest nymph - alert, graceful and very beautiful. To understand the lesson better, you can watch this video:

Learning to draw a portrait of a teenage girl

The face of an adult is quite noticeably different from the face of a child or teenager in terms of proportions. Therefore, for the full, multifaceted development of you as an artist, it is important to learn how to draw portraits not only of adults, but also of teenagers and children.

First, draw a circle and divide it into 4 equal parts.

On the center line we will make the basic shape for the eyes and eyebrows, and at the bottom - for the nose and mouth. The ears will be located on the sides at a height from the eyebrows to the nose.

The nose in children is usually quite wide, without a pronounced dorsum.

And the lips are quite plump. As for the width, the line of the mouth should be between the two pupils. For convenience, you can even draw vertical lines from them down. And don't forget about the fold above the upper lip.

Now let's slightly lengthen the oval of the face and start drawing the hair.

Hair should fall in waves, in separate large strands. And in these large strands you need to draw individual hairs. Also at this stage you can erase all auxiliary lines and start working with shadows.

You need to shade lightly and very carefully. You should remember not only about natural shadows, but also about falling ones.

That's it, now our drawing is completely and completely ready. More nuances and small parts You can watch this video here:

The topic of this article is devoted to how to draw a portrait with a pencil step by step for beginners. Each of us is looking for a convenient way to depict what he sees. Therefore, I want to offer an option on how to draw a portrait of a person, be it a loved one, or a person sitting opposite on the train, or it will be portraits of celebrities. In this version, there is only one rule - simplicity.

And today is a training lesson. We will draw a person’s face with a pencil step by step, a person whom you see every day; you are used to “working” a little on his appearance, trying on makeup or a smile, severity or tenderness. We draw the face you know as your reflection in the mirror.

But first, let's get a mirror and look at ourselves like for the first time. All people are similar, and at the same moment different, and you are no exception. What makes us similar? Everyone has healthy person there are two eyes, a mouth, a nose, ears, eyebrows, hair arranged in a hairstyle. What makes us different? The shape, size and location of these “details” of human appearance. So, a portrait is a kind of collage or puzzle of several passages, which we will “break down” into the plan of our work: Eyes; Mouth; Nose; Ears; Brows; Hair (hairstyle) and oval face.

And all this has its own shape, size and its own proportions of location on the face. This is what makes each of us “one of a kind” and unlike anyone else. And if we learn to draw a portrait a certain person, then it would be good to first pay attention to the shape and type of each element of the face in detail. And only after this our final goal, and this is a portrait with colored pencils, will become more accessible.

Eyes

We will first practice drawing all the details with a simple pencil. And also, please note, I draw myself and my eyes. You can practice drawing mine for now, but this will be an intermediate step on the way to understanding how to learn how to draw portraits with a pencil.

Step 1

Here we will draw an arc with a pencil. At the same time, pay attention to its shape. It is extended until the middle, and then “rolls” down.

Step 2

The lower arc is almost perfect. It is smaller than the top one.

Step 3

We connect the arches and perform the upper eyelid.

Step 4

Cornea and lower eyelid.

Step 5

Eyelashes appear on the upper and lower eyelids and the pupil.

Step 6

We make small folds near the eyes and mark the places where the shadow falls, making the eye seem voluminous.

Lips

How to draw sponges correctly? Just 5 steps and your lip drawing is ready.

Step 1

We start with a wavy line.

Step 2

Above the wavy line we draw the upper sponge.

Step 3

We complement the drawn mouth with a lower sponge.

Step 4

We connect the edges of the lips and some folds of the lips.

Step 5

We create a chiaroscuro effect and do not forget about the folds in the corners of the lips and on the chin.

Nose

How to draw a portrait of a person if you don’t learn how to draw one of the most difficult details, the nose. We do this step by step.

Step 1

We draw parallel lines - this is the width of the nose.

Step 2

The two lines end with the original “capsule”. This is a widening of the nose.

Step 3

We depict the nostrils.

Step 4

Shading for a chiaroscuro effect.

Step 5

To make the shadow look natural, we even it out a little.

Ears

Another element that is sometimes forgotten when covered with hair. But our pencil portrait for beginners provides it step by step. What is this? Ears.

Step 1

The shape of the ear is similar to an arch. Let's do it.

Step 2

We perform the upper part of the auricle, the helix and the tragus.

Step 3

We make an anti-curl. A lobe has appeared, which means I haven’t forgotten about my jewelry – the earring.

Step 4

I do the cheek, neck and hair.

Brows

Drawing a portrait also includes such details as eyebrows.

Step 1

Some find it convenient to do this first with an arc, and then each hair separately. And for some, it is more interesting to immediately draw the shape of the eyebrows, making them with abrupt lines.

Step 2

We correct the shape and thickness of the eyebrows.

Hair (hairstyle) and face shape

Having examined each individual detail, it is easier for us to understand how to draw a portrait with a pencil. And yet, I will show you the image of a person’s face in stages.

Action 1

My face has round shape. And this is what I try to portray.

Act 2

I mark where the neck will be and the shape of my hairstyle.

Act 3

I draw the hair in more detail.

Well, we have learned to work on each detail separately. Time to put the puzzle together. Let's talk about having a pencil person.

Angle

Before we get a portrait with colored pencils, we again draw the portrait from scratch. But what else is important to know about depicting people? The fact that you can make a person's face in different ways. For example, if the model is sitting directly in front of us, her body and head itself are positioned straight, and her eyes are looking directly at the artist, then this angle is called full face.

Profile – if the model is located sideways to us.

How to draw a portrait of a person who is sitting half-turned towards us? And what is this work called? This is three quarters. This angle is very convenient for a romantic and informal image. It brings out the beauty of the eyes and lips. This is exactly what we will choose to make the first pencil portrait from a photograph.

Working on an image from a photograph

First, you should choose a photo of a suitable model to draw a portrait from a photograph. And now let's do the work step by step.

To understand how to draw a person’s face, let’s divide everything into stages.

Stage 1

We make an oval face with a pencil.

Stage 2

This pencil work for beginners involves auxiliary lines that will help maintain the proportions of a person's face when drawing a portrait outline.

Stage 3

Thanks to the diagram, we mark where the eyes, nose and other organs will be. We perform these facial details step by step.

A little more detail:

Eyes and eyebrows

Nose

Stage 4

Now, to make our pencil portrait from the photo look more believable, we erase all the auxiliary lines and pay attention to the hair. Don't forget about the effect of chiaroscuro.

Stage 5

It's time to make a portrait with colored pencils to bring it to life.

Test lesson

It's time to move on to checking what we have learned and continue talking about how to draw your portrait. I hope the portrait drawing lessons were not in vain for me, and I will be able to believably draw myself as a real beauty!

1) Oval face.

2) Auxiliary lines to maintain proportions.

3) Schematic representation of all elements.

4) We make a portrait with colored pencils.

The lesson has been learned and reinforced. As for me, the result is not bad. We can safely say that we have understood how to draw a portrait with a pencil. And if necessary, we will use our new skills.
